Having completed the Degree in Video Game Design and Development at Universitat Jaume I and currently studying the Master's Degree in 3D Art and Animation for Video Games at the Escuela Superior de Videojuegos y Arte Digital, I am writing this letter to present myself as a possible candidate for a job position, as I am ready to enter the professional world.
As a result of the training period carried out during the degree, I am prepared in many areas of video game creation. Specifically, I am trained in 2D and 3D design, modeling and animation, as well as in video game programming and databases, writing and localizing narrative stories and scripts, and business management in video game creation. However, my main focus has been 3D design and modeling.
More precisely, I develop my experience in each field named above.
Currently, as part of my master's training, I have specialized in 3D production tools such as Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marmoset Toolbag, and SpeedTree, with which I have developed various modeling, texturing, and animation projects, including robots, environments, and different props intended for integration into real-time 3D environments within the Unity engine.
Regarding 3D modeling and animation during the degree, I used applications such as 3DS Max, Blender, Maya, AutoCAD, Mudbox, and MotionBuilder. Throughout these years I have modeled objects and buildings, with prior planning in AutoCAD, from scratch, as well as modeled the musculature and faces of people, and animated characters in Unity and MotionBuilder. As part of my Final Degree Project, I modeled and animated a humanoid character, its weapon, and several assets in Blender, with the objective of integrating them into a real-time 3D environment in Unity.
As for 2D design and animation, I have used applications such as Krita, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP or Adobe Photoshop. In this case my creations have been multiple, for example, art for specific works or for different videogames made during the career, such as scenarios, landscapes, characters and buildings. For animation, I have experience with bone and sprite animation among others.
Regarding programming, I have worked with several languages. I consider that I can handle languages like C#, C++, phaser, html, css, SQL, python or JavaScript. During these years I have programmed several videogames created from scratch, applications, web pages, such as my own page where you can find my portfolio and exercises focused on objects, mathematical problems or videogames.
About the writing and localization of narrative stories and scripts, I have developed two complete storylines: one for an interactive horror adventure game and another for an action-adventure title with elements of gore and logical puzzles. In addition, I created a short narrative specifically for my Final Degree Project, which served as a conceptual and thematic base for the character and environment I designed. I have also worked on the localization of the simulation and management game League Manager 2023, as well as various animations and video content.
In addition to all this, during the second and third year of my degree, I participated in the Formula Student project of the University. In it I was working in the communication department, carrying out all the non-mechanical design. During those two years I was in charge of redesigning the team's website and keeping it constantly updated, designing the equipment, banners, roll-ups, canvases, videos for the single-seater presentations and other tasks related to graphic design. Also, the first year, I designed the distribution of sponsors on the car and in the second year I was given total freedom to make the livery of the car.
To finish each year in Formula Student, the team presented the cars in different competitions that I had the opportunity to attend. In these competitions you have to do different tests with the car, but you also have to present a Business Plan. In the latter I had an active participation developing it and presenting it to the judges of the competition in English.
Finally, I would like to mention that I have a good level of English, obtaining the official Trinity B2 certificate with experience in projects, classes, in the above mentioned, the exposure of the Business Plan in competition and trips abroad with host family.
As my studies and portfolio shows, I am passionate about videogames and their creation, being for me a pride to be able to dedicate myself to what I like and continue learning and improving to be able to develop this and in this world.
I consider myself a proactive person, constant and perfectionist in my work, and it would be a pleasure for me to expand my professional training and skills.
For this, I show you everything in more detail at https://pedrohapersonalweb.neocities.org/ or at https://www.artstation.com/pedrooha and do not hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
